Class Cert. Granted In SC Cancer Insurance Action

Law360, New York (October 20, 2010, 2:25 PM EDT) -- A federal judge has certified a class of 53 people in South Carolina who allege two insurance companies are responsible for bilking them out of payments under supplemental cancer insurance policies.

Judge Joseph F. Anderson Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the District of South Carolina issued the order Tuesday, rejecting arguments put forth by Dixie National Life Insurance Co. and National Foundation Life Insurance Co. that the claims should be heard on an individual basis.
