GSA Awards Landmark Cloud Computing Contract

Law360, New York (October 20, 2010, 1:18 PM EDT) -- The U.S. General Services Administration has awarded the first governmentwide cloud computing contract to 11 vendors — including Dell Inc. and AT&T Inc. — who will help launch a new line of infrastructure-as-a-service offerings aimed at supporting expansion of the government's IT capabilities.

GSA announced on Tuesday the blanket purchase agreement for IaaS offerings, which will eventually be offered through the government's cloud-based services storefront,
