EU Pushes For Duties On Chinese Coated Paper

Law360, New York (October 21, 2010, 6:16 PM EDT) -- The European Commission has reportedly found that Chinese paper companies are selling coated fine paper in Europe at unfairly low prices and proposed duties on the imports.

Dow Jones reported Thursday that the European Union regulator had suggested duties of around 20 percent for the Chinese subsidiaries of Indonesian paper company Asia Pulp and Paper and approximately 40 percent for Shandong Chenming Paper Holdings Ltd.

A spokesman for EU Trade Commissioner Karel De Gucht did not immediately respond to a request for comment Thursday.
