US Atty Targets Chicago Pol In Criminal Probe

Law360, New York (October 21, 2010, 5:16 PM EDT) -- Federal prosecutors are investigating the contingency account expense reports of Illinois Cook County Commissioner William Beavers, who reportedly admitted that he has used the $1,200 monthly stipend to boost his income.

U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald sent a subpoena in the criminal probe to the Cook County Board on Oct. 4, requesting Beavers' records for funds received in 2008 and 2009, according to the document released by the Better Government Association on Wednesday.
