Shell, PPG Settle Contract Suit Over Supply Agreement

Law360, New York (October 22, 2010, 3:46 PM EDT) -- PPG Industries Inc. and Shell Chemical LP have resolved PPG’s lawsuit accusing Shell and one of its subsidiaries of improperly terminating a contract for diaphragm-grade liquid caustic soda used in Texas refineries.

Judge Gary L. Lancaster of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania on Thursday approved the parties’ stipulation to dismiss the litigation with prejudice.

The suit, filed in June 2009, accused Shell and subsidiary Motiva Enterprises LLC of breach of contract, unjust enrichment and detrimental reliance for ending what PPG said...
