Attorneys Abandon Hurricane Katrina Settlement

Law360, New York (March 13, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In an aboutface, the attorneys representing Hurricane Katrina victims have taken their proposed deal with State Farm Insurance off the table, concerned that the multimillion-dollar agreement will never come to pass.

On Monday, a legal team spearheaded by Richard Scruggs said in court papers that they were withdrawing their request for U.S. District Judge L.T. Senter Jr. to approve the deal due to a legal impasse.
