BMW To Pull 150K US Cars Over Fuel Pumps

Law360, New York (October 26, 2010, 6:24 PM EDT) -- BMW of North America LLC plans to launch two voluntary recalls of more than 150,000 vehicles that may be equipped with faulty fuel pumps, the German luxury car manufacturer said Tuesday.

BMW said it had notified the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency of its plan to pull about 130,000 of its cars produced between 2007 and 2010 because they feature high-pressure fuel injection systems that may fail.

The company also said it had asked the California Air Resources Board for permission to begin the recall.
