Former EPA Regional Director Joins BP Oil Spill Panel

Law360, New York (October 26, 2010, 4:38 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has brought in a veteran environmental bureaucrat and Florida native to serve as executive director of the panel overseeing ecological restoration efforts in the wake of April’s oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.

EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson on Monday named environmental and land management expert John Hankinson to join her at the helm of President Barack Obama’s Gulf Coast Ecosystem Restoration Task Force, launched Oct. 5 to handle a range of environmental work related to the spill.
