Feds To Introduce Proffer Statements In Ring Trial

Law360, New York (October 27, 2010, 5:54 PM EDT) -- In the second week of ex-lobbyist Kevin Ring's retrial on public corruption charges, prosecutors are saying they will introduce statements Ring made in 2006 and 2007 when he was in talks with the government.

In papers filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, federal prosecutors said they would introduce statements made by Ring in proffer sessions before he was indicted because the defense's opening statement stood “in sharp contrast” to what Ring had said several years ago about a no-work job...
