GAO Calls For Better Management Of Federal Records

Law360, New York (October 28, 2010, 5:32 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Government Accountability Office has released two reports on the National Archives and Records Administration, saying that weaknesses in the federal government's record management system could put sensitive data at risk.

The GAO reports, released Wednesday, reviewed NARA's efforts to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of its records, and found that the agency had room to improve, publishing 17 recommendations to shore up information security, oversight and management.
