GM, Toyota, Mercedes Sued Over Accident Technology

Law360 (March 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- General Motors Corp., Toyota Motor Sales USA, Mercedes-Benz USA LLC and BMW of North America LLC have been slammed with an infringement lawsuit over their in-vehicle communication systems which automatically contact emergency services after major accidents.

Technology patent-holding company Fernandez Innovative Technologies LLC filed a lawsuit Monday against the auto makers, as well as @Road Inc. and GM subsidiary OnStar Corp., seeking damages and an injunction banning the use of the systems.
