Judge Rejects Allied Shareholders’ Bid

Law360 (March 14, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A shareholder group for Allied Holdings Inc. has once again lost a bid to play a larger role in the auto carrier’s Chapter 11 case.

Judge C. Ray Mullins of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Georgia batted down another request from the shareholders to become an official committee after concluding that they failed to show the court that they were not being adequately represented.

“Movants offer insufficient support that the costs of an equity committee will not outweigh the benefits,” Mullins wrote...
