Ex-Hedge Fund Manager Cops To $71M Ponzi Scheme

Law360, New York (November 1, 2010, 7:09 PM EDT) -- Colorado hedge fund manager Sean Mueller pled guilty on Monday to charges stemming from a $71 million Ponzi scheme that ensnared 65 investors, including former Denver Broncos quarterback John Elway.

Mueller, the founder of Mueller Capital Management LLC, changed his plea to guilty at a hearing in the Denver District Court, admitting to violating the Colorado Organized Crime Control Act, one count of securities fraud and one count of theft.
