United Rentals CFO Gets Probation In Fraud Case

Law360, New York (November 2, 2010, 5:41 PM EDT) -- The former chief financial officer of United Rentals Inc. was sentenced Tuesday to three years of probation and ordered to pay restitution of more than $1 million for making false filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

Judge Ellen Bree Burns of the U.S District Court for the District of Connecticut handed out the sentence to Michael J. Nolan, 49, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office. Nolan pled guilty to one count of making false filings in December 2007.
