Thermo Fisher Hit With Patent Suit Over Lab Device

Law360, New York (November 3, 2010, 12:52 PM EDT) -- An Australian life sciences company has accused Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. and Expedeon Ltd. of infringing a patent for a device used in laboratory tests.

NuSep Holdings Ltd. and its American sales arm NuSep Inc. filed suit Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, accusing Thermo Fisher and Expedeon of infringing U.S. Patent Number 5,954,934, titled “Cassette for electrophoresis gels.”

The suit was filed on behalf of the plaintiffs by Bondurant Mixson & Elmore LLP's Christopher T. Giovinazzo.
