BofA Sues Old Republic For Denying Mortgage Claims

Law360, New York (November 3, 2010, 6:24 PM EDT) -- Bank of America NA has sued its mortgage insurer, Old Republic Insurance Co., alleging that it is turning down hundreds of millions of dollars in valid mortgage insurance claims.

Bank of America seeks an order forcing Old Republic to pay all valid claims and barring it from denying claims due to missing nonsignificant paperwork, as well as awards totaling $320 million for alleged breach of policy and violation of good faith and fair dealing, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for...
