Microsoft Wins One In Clash With Alcatel-Lucent

Law360, New York (March 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Microsoft Corp. won a small victory in one of its ongoing patent disputes with Alcatel-Lucent on Wednesday when a San Diego district court judge granted the software company summary judgment against certain claims in the case.

The judge said that Microsoft had not infringed one of Alcatel-Lucent’s patents, U.S. Patent No. 4,763,356, for a “touch screen form entry system,” and that claims relating to that patent should be struck from the case.
