Recycler Envipco Files Antitrust Suit Against Tomra

Law360, New York (November 4, 2010, 7:13 PM EDT) -- After paying a $34 million fine in 2006 for anti-competitive conduct in the European Union, recycling giant Tomra Systems ASA is now trying to crush competition illegally in the U.S., alleges a new lawsuit by Environmental Products Corp.

The rival recycler, a Connecticut wing of Netherlands-based Envipco Holding NV, has accused Norway's Tomra and its domestic subsidiary, Tomra of North America Inc., of engaging in unfair and deceptive practices that violate state and federal laws, according to a complaint filed Thursday in the U.S. District Court...
