VoIP Patent Suit Ensnares Verizon, AT&T, Earthlink

Law360 (March 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Verizon Communications Inc., AT&T Corp., Vonage Holdings Corp. and other major players in the Voice over Internet Protocol market have been hit with a patent infringement suit over the Internet telephone technology.

The suit, filed Wednesday by patent holding company Web Telephony LLC, also named Earthlink Inc. and SunRocket Corp. as defendants. The suit centers on two patents entitled “Internet controlled telephone system.”
