E.C. Seeks To Link Proposed Patent Plan To Top Court

Law360, New York (March 16, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The European Commission’s internal markets chief has found a way to link his proposed Europe-wide patent system to the bloc’s top court in an effort to break a deadlock over patent jurisdiction, according to a Reuters report.

The new proposal, set to be published later this month, would give the European Court of Justice the final word in patent disputes in order to salvage the embattled European Patent Litigation Agreement, according to a document seen by Reuters.
