AG Probes Retirement Consulting At Morningstar

Law360 (March 19, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The New York Attorney General has honed its ongoing probe into investment research firm Morningstar Inc. to focus on the company’s retirement consulting arm.

In a recent filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Morningstar revealed that the attorney general is taking a closer look at the company’s role in a retirement investment service offered by ING, one of Morningstar’s clients.

The attorney general has sent Morningstar a notice of proposed litigation in relation to the investigation, the company revealed in its filing.
