Ariz. Attorney, CPA Sentenced For Tax Evasion Plot

Law360, New York (November 9, 2010, 5:37 PM EST) -- An attorney and a certified public accountant from Mesa, Ariz., have been sentenced to prison for setting up fake offshore trusts to hide money from the Internal Revenue Service.

Attorney Steven W. Allen was sentenced to 46 months in prison and accountant Allen Goodmansen was sentenced to 18 months by Judge Roslyn Silver of the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona, the U.S. Department of Justice said Monday.
