Obama Creates Export Coordination Center

Law360, New York (November 10, 2010, 2:48 PM EST) -- President Barack Obama has signed an executive order creating a new federal office tasked with coordinating export violation enforcement across government agencies and passing export violation information between federal agents and the intelligence community.

The new Export Coordination Enforcement Center will be located within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and staffed primarily with people loaned out from related agencies — including the U.S. departments of State, Treasury, Commerce, Justice and Defense — who will remain on those agencies’ payrolls, according to Tuesday’s executive order....
