E.C. Takes Aim At Videotape Cartel

Law360, New York (March 20, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Europe’s competition watchdog said Tuesday it has taken the first step in a new antitrust investigation by sending statements of objection to a number of companies regarding their alleged roles in a cartel for professional videotape used for television.

The European Commission said the statements allege that the companies violated rules outlawing restrictive business practices by fixing the prices of professional videotape products.
