DTS Sues Chinese Electronics Maker For Trademark Infringement

Law360, New York (September 2, 2004, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Audio technology company Digital Theater Systems (DTS) has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit three Chinese electronics makers that allegedly put the DTS mark on its DVD players without authorization.

DTS and a Hong Kong subsidiary said they had begun legal proceedings against Shinco International AV Co. Ltd., Jiangsu Shinco Electronic Group Co. Ltd., and Changzhou Shinco Digital Technology Co. for “breach of contract, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, and passing off.”
