Hawaii Sues McKesson For Allegedly Inflating AWPs

Law360, New York (November 11, 2010, 2:13 PM EST) -- Hawaii has hit drug wholesaler McKesson Corp. and pharmaceutical-market survey publisher First DataBank Inc. with a lawsuit alleging they inflated average wholesale prices published by First DataBank and caused the state to overpay Medicaid providers when reimbursing them.

The state filed its five-count complaint against McKesson and Hearst Corp. subsidiary First Databank, which compiles and publishes pharmaceutical pricing information, in Hawaii's First Circuit Court on Wednesday.
