Target, GE, Others Hit With False Marking Suits

Law360, New York (November 15, 2010, 1:05 PM EST) -- Main Hastings LLC has unleashed a flurry of new false patent marking suits, accusing General Electric Co., Target Corp., SanDisk Corp. and LeapFrog Enterprises Inc. of branding their products with expired or inapplicable patents.

The qui tam complaints, filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Thursday and Friday, aim to “act in the public interest to enforce the policy underlying the false marking statute,” U.S. Code, Title 35, Section 292.
