Philip Morris, RJR Snag 6th Consecutive Engle Win

Law360, New York (November 12, 2010, 6:46 PM EST) -- Another Florida jury has let R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. and Philip Morris USA Inc. off the hook in a liability suit, handing the tobacco companies their sixth consecutive victory in their defense of the so-called Engle progeny cases.

Philip Morris, a subsidiary of Altria Group Inc., said Friday that a Miami-Dade County jury had decided in its favor in a case brought against it and R.J. Reynolds by Maria Espinosa, a woman who smoked the companies' cigarettes — primarily Virginia Slims — for 46 years up...
