Asahi Seiko Loses Ball Bearing Duty Challenge

Law360, New York (November 15, 2010, 5:11 PM EST) -- Japanese manufacturer and exporter Asahi Seiko Co. Ltd. has lost a bid for judgment on the agency record in its dispute with the U.S. government over anti-dumping duty orders on ball bearings and why the company was not selected as a mandatory respondent in an administrative review.

In an order handed down Friday, Judge Timothy C. Stanceu denied Asahi's motion for judgment and found for the U.S. Department of Commerce, saying the company wasn't entitled to relief because it hadn't exhausted all of its administrative remedies,...
