Williams To Buy Bakken Oil Properties For $925M

Law360, New York (November 15, 2010, 11:26 AM EST) -- Williams Cos. Inc. said Monday it would pay $925 million to acquire 85,800 net acres in North Dakota's oil-rich Bakken Shale, a move that allows the natural gas producer to diversify itself with light, sweet crude oil production.

The sale, which is expected to close by the end of the year, will allow Williams to tap into about 185 million barrels of oil equivalent in total net reserves potential in the Middle Bakken and Upper Three Forks shale formations, the company said.
