Ameritox To Pay $16M To Resolve Medicaid FCA Suit

Law360, New York (November 17, 2010, 5:04 PM EST) -- Ameritox Ltd. has agreed to pay the federal government and a number of states $16.3 million to settle allegations that the company paid money or provided in-kind services to health care practitioners to induce referrals for Ameritox drug-testing services.

The settlement regards the company's actions from January 2003 to June 2010, Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel and the U.S. Department of Justice announced Tuesday. Florida, Massachusetts and Texas were among the plaintiffs in the suit.
