Namibia Can't Shake UN Wall Collapse Lawsuit

Law360, New York (November 18, 2010, 1:43 PM EST) -- Namibia has failed to shake an insurance lawsuit brought by USAA Casualty Insurance Co. alleging that negligence by the country and its contractors while constructing its mission building at the United Nations in New York caused a wall to collapse and damage a neighboring property.

Judge Laura Taylor Swain of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York denied the African country's motion to dismiss the suit Wednesday. USAA, which insured an occupant of the neighboring building, is seeking $400,000 in damages....
