FTC Seeks To Squash Pom's Battle Against Ad Rules

Law360, New York (November 17, 2010, 7:13 PM EST) -- The Federal Trade Commission has swiped back at a lawsuit by Pom Wonderful LLC challenging the agency's new standards for evaluating health-based advertising claims, arguing that the juice maker's assertion that the rules violate its free speech rights are “baseless.”

In a filing Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the FTC said Pom's lawsuit interferes with the agency’s enforcement action against the company.
