Calif. Says Uses Illegal Price Practices

Law360, New York (November 18, 2010, 3:15 PM EST) -- Inc. is under fire from California district attorneys who claim the popular online retailer overstates its discounts to fool shoppers into believing they are getting a good deal.

The complaint, filed Wednesday in the Superior Court of California, Alameda County, alleges that Overstock deceives consumers about the savings the company promises by routinely fabricating or inflating the prices its competitors reportedly charge.
