Ex-SocGen Trader Argues Against IP Theft Conviction

Law360, New York (November 18, 2010, 5:52 PM EST) -- A lawyer for a former Societe Generale SA trader accused of stealing trade secrets pled with jurors on Thursday not to convict, despite the defendant's admission in testimony that he did in fact take code for a high-frequency trading program.

Defense attorney Ivan Fisher told a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York during closing arguments that his client Samarth Agrawal was "the victim of a horrible eclipse."
