DOC Keeps Anti-Dumping Duties On Chinese Candles

Law360, New York (November 18, 2010, 3:46 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce decided Thursday to preserve an anti-dumping duty order on petroleum wax candles from China, concluding that the order protects U.S. candlemakers from unfair competition.

In August, the U.S. International Trade Commission opted to expedite its third sunset review of the duties, having received an adequate response from a domestic group but nothing from respondents.

After completing its review, the ITC determined that revoking the order, in place for nearly 25 years, would harm U.S. petroleum wax candlemakers.
