Vioxx Plaintiffs Take $5B Deal Woes To High Court

Law360, New York (November 18, 2010, 7:06 PM EST) -- A group of plaintiffs challenging Merck & Co. Inc.'s $4.85 billion settlement of multidistrict litigation over its painkiller Vioxx has asked the U.S. Supreme Court to consider whether the mass settlement ran afoul of federal procedure by setting up a "quasi-class action" that allegedly stripped some plaintiffs of their rights.
