GAO Bid Protests Climb Yet Again In 2010

Law360, New York (November 19, 2010, 4:38 PM EST) -- For the third straight year, the number of bid protests filed with the U.S. Government Accountability Office significantly increased, climbing 16 percent in fiscal year 2010, a trend that experts attribute to a stagnant economy, expanded GAO jurisdiction and growing procurement budgets.

The 2,299 bid protests filed with the agency in FY 2010 is a whopping 73 percent increase from the number of protests filed in FY 2006, according to preliminary FY 2010 statistics from the GAO obtained by Law360.
