Ex-House Aide Gets Jail Time In Abramoff Case

Law360, New York (November 23, 2010, 1:47 PM EST) -- A former congressional aide who admitted accepting an all-expenses-paid golfing trip to Scotland, tickets to sporting events and concerts, and payments from disgraced ex-lobbyist Jack Abramoff has been sentenced to 12 weekends in jail and four years probation.

Mark Zachares, a former aide to Rep. Don Young, R-Ark., was sentenced on Monday by Judge Ellen Huvelle of the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia. Zachares pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit honest services fraud in 2007.
