RIAA Sues 80 More Downloaders

Law360, New York (October 31, 2003, 12:00 AM EST) -- The Recording Industry Association of America filed 80 more federal lawsuits Thursday against computer users for illegally transferring copyrighted music files, newswires reported.

The 80 people targeted in the lawsuits were among 204 who had been threatened with legal action earlier this month unless they contacted the trade association to discuss a financial settlement. The other 124 people had approached music industry lawyers about settling the claims, according to the RIAA.
