Anvik Gets Temporary Export Ban Over Iran Shipments

Law360, New York (November 23, 2010, 4:07 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Commerce has slapped an export ban on a company accused of procuring items in the U.S. and shipping them to Iran using virtual offices in third-party countries.

Anvik Technologies Inc. and owner/ operator Babak Jafarpour were hit with the 180-day ban pursuant to the Export Administration Regulations, barring them from exporting goods subject to the regulations and barring companies from exporting items on their behalf, according to a notice Monday in the Federal Register.
