Affiliated Shareholders Petition To Block Buyout

Law360, New York (March 22, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The shareholders who hit Affiliated Computer Services Inc. with a derivative suit in the wake of the options backdating scandal at the company have taken issue with the proposed buyout of the company, amending their lawsuit to formally oppose the $6 billion deal.

The newly amended complaint, filed Wednesday in a Dallas district court, claims that the buyout proposal is a veiled attempt by the company to wriggle out of the derivative suit by eliminating the standing of the plaintiffs as shareholders.
