ITC To Probe Apple's Patent Claims Against Motorola

Law360, New York (November 24, 2010, 5:05 PM EST) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has launched an investigation of claims that smartphones produced by Motorola Inc. infringe on patents held by Apple Inc., the latest development in an escalating IP battle between the two.

The ITC voted Tuesday to initiate the probe in response to a complaint the Cupertino, Calif.-based Apple filed in late October against Schaumburg, Ill.-based Motorola.
