EEOC Launches Applebee's Harassment Suit

Law360, New York (March 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed a sexual harassment suit against an Applebee’s on Thursday, alleging that several employees were groped and solicited for sex and marking its second such suit against an Illinois franchise of the company in three years.

The EEOC based its suit on a discrimination charge filed by Brittnay Selent at the Applebee’s Neighborhood Grill and Bar restaurant in Aurora, Ill. The complaint alleges that the restaurant violated Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and that the harassment...
