Diocese Creditors Win Counsel For Pensions, Appeal

Law360, New York (November 30, 2010, 4:58 PM EST) -- The Catholic Diocese of Wilmington Inc.’s unsecured creditors committee obtained bankruptcy court approval Tuesday to hire Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP as special pension counsel and Schnader Harrison Segal & Lewis LLP as special appellate counsel.

Judge Christopher S. Sontchi of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware signed off on the committee’s retention motions, rejecting the Delaware-based debtor’s argument that the additional fees were an unnecessary burden on the estate.
