Doctor Indicted Over False Fen-Phen Injury Claims

Law360, New York (November 30, 2010, 8:02 PM EST) -- A Florida doctor has been charged with allegedly submitting fraudulent medical records for patients seeking to collect money from Wyeth Pharmaceutical Inc.’s massive settlement fund, set up to resolve class action litigation alleging that a popular diet treatment involving the company’s drugs caused heart damage.

Abdur Razzak Tai faces 13 counts of mail fraud and wire fraud in connection with the alleged scheme, according to the indictment filed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania on Tuesday.
