GE Settles Ala. Race Discrimination Suit

Law360, New York (December 1, 2010, 4:26 PM EST) -- General Electric Co. and a subsidiary have settled a race discrimination suit brought by a crew of black industrial contractors who said they were fired in retaliation after complaining about an abusive supervisor.

Judge Kristi K. DuBose of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama signed off on the settlement Tuesday, although the terms of the settlement weren't disclosed.

Attorneys involved in the case either declined to comment or didn't immediately respond to requests for more information on the settlement Wednesday.
