Albertsons Employees Settle For $53M

Law360, New York (March 23, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has approved a settlement that will give $53.3 million to the thousands of Albertsons employees who were allegedly denied overtime and forced to work off the clock.

By signing an order Thursday, Judge B. Lynn Winmill of the U.S. District Court in Boise, Idaho, ended over 10 years of litigation. Each of the 7,000 class members will now receive an average of $7,600, though some of the plaintiffs will get as much as $28,000.
