Company Skirting Law With Ethanol Plant: Suit

Law360, New York (March 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A citizen group has brought a lawsuit against a company planning to build an ethanol plant in a small town in Illinois, saying the permit it applied for allows the company to violate the Clean Air Act.

The lawsuit, which is a citizen suit enforcement action, was brought Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois and names not only Marquis Energy, which is building the plant, but also the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and its director, Douglas P. Scott.
