DOL Alleges Sex Bias At Nash Finch Plant

Law360, New York (December 3, 2010, 2:50 PM EST) -- The U.S. Department of Labor has targeted Nash Finch Co., a wholesale food distributor that contracts with the U.S. government, for allegedly engaging in systematic discrimination against dozens of women who sought to work at its Lumberton, N.C., plant.

The agency’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs lodged an administrative complaint Thursday, accusing the Minneapolis-based company of passing over more than 80 qualified women who applied for warehouse positions in favor of men.
